MKMMA – A Success Story

I’m going to give a short blog today about a huge success story in my life.   A very important person in my life has struggled with some demons for most of his adult life.  He hit the bottom of the barrel a little over a year ago.   He lost everything.  His wife, the relationship with his kids has changed, his job, his friends, everything.   My heart broke for him.  I knew deep inside this troubled soul was a great guy.  A kind man.  I loved him. 

Over the course of the last few years I’ve share some of my philosophies and thoughts with him hoping to encourage him to keep going.  Life does go on and you can live a happy life.    I share a lot of what I learned with the Master Key Master Mind Alliance program that I participated in with Mark Januszewski.   I talked to him about the Law of Substitution.   A terrible thought enters your mind and you must replace it as soon as possible with a positive thought – a happy memory for instance.  I share with him the idea that you are the master of your mind and you can let things in and you can let things out.    You must persist to get out of the deep dark hole you’ve surrounded yourself with. 

I don’t live in the same community as this man but tried often to touch him with positive thoughts.    This was a journey he had to do for himself and all we could do was pray he stayed on a positive course. 

At one of the darkest hours he chose to get his college education.  He enrolled to an online college and was accepted.  He proceeded to get a college degree in just over a year.  It was hard work to keep up with the class and stay away from the demons.   I don’t know that for sure because he never shared, but those demons don’t give up easily.   But, he prevailed.  Mind over matter.  He succeeded in getting his college degree!  Cum Laude even!    This was an amazing feat.  A 50 year old man finally getting the college degree he sorely needed.  Now what to do?  He kept working that minimum wage job and started applying online.    This man wanted to get to a larger metropolitan area – there were just no real opportunities in our little home town. 

I got a call last night.  He got a job offer.  A GREAT job offer.  Its in the line of work he did for 30 years but now on a managerial  level due to his new College Education.  The man will be making a wonderful  salary plus commission,  will have a car allowance, wonderful benefits and most of all an opportunity to start a new life.  We cried last night talking about this great opportunity.

I told him this all happened because he made a decision.   He decided to change the way he thought about himself and his life and stuck to it.  I’m so proud of him I cry thinking about it.   He tried to tell me it was because of all the positive encouragement I gave him which was nice of him to say but everyone needs a little help.  It really was his Success in setting a new course.  He had no idea what the end result was going to be.  He just kept moving one small step at a time toward a new place in life.     This is a huge success story and I believe it’s about Believing in yourself and taking action toward a burning desire.
